Recorded in 2006 at Dazzle Jazz in Denver, Colorado, these selections were all arranged by Dale. A stellar line-up of musicians play superbly on these choices.

Based on their classical music counterparts, all of these pieces were originally written by classical composers.

That is in one case, the standard played here, Lover, Come Back to Me by Sigmund Romberg and Oscar Hammerstein II, was written based on the music of  Peter Tchaikovsky’s June Barcarolle.

This CD and Classical Connections Vol II point out what Duke Ellington said years ago, ‘There are only two kinds of music: good and bad.’

I can only imagine he is smiling greatly when he hears these tunes by these musicians, shaking his head, and telling them ‘I love you madly!’
